A truly outstanding Japanese bronze Koro (incense burner). Late 19th century inlaid in gold and silver and signed. This very unusual combination of figures incorporates a giant shishi (lion dog) surmounted by a large rosette leading up to a large globular areacovered in sky dragons then a vertical 'tree' with a big dragon wrapped around it surmounted by a sennin carrying a large bowl on his shoulders.
